Make the most of high school academics. Ask questions so YOU understand. Save essays, you may be able to reuse portions for college.
Be yourself. It’s important. You’ll get the most satisfaction if you focus on the people and activities that feel right to you, rather than what seems cool or acceptable.
Work hard. Bad habits develop easy and are hard to break.
Think about college and career choices early. Use that as your focus in high school.
Look at the bigger picture! Life after high school exists despite being hard to imagine. Do not focus on the social hierarchy of high school, there is a whole world of people you will meet in the future. Keep your mind open to ideas and differences.
Take care of yourself. Make good choices for your physical and mental health. Get enough sleep, eat right, exercise, and spend time with positive people.
Ask for advice.
Take practice standardized tests. The SAT and ACT are an important part of getting admitted to college.
Load up on college level classes or career training while in high school, it will help you get ahead.
